Having the critical information about surgical options allows the patient
to make the right choice for him or her. I endeavor to provide that information
in an unbiased, nonpaternalistic manner and to assist the patient in making the
optimal final decision. Some of the difficult choices or questions raised by
cosmetic surgery can be discussed in a complimentary consultation. Although some
procedures may be portrayed in the media as very simple and no-risk, the nature
of surgery is such that risks, benefits and recovery are discussed in the same
consultation.

For reasons of patient safety, I prefer to use the outpatient surgery centers and hospitals of Colorado Springs. These include Printer's Park, Audubon, Healthsouth and Premier among the outpatient centers and the Memorial and Penrose as inpatient hospital systems.
For smaller procedures such as lesion removal and some eyelid, chin and scar surgery, surgery may be recommended in the office procedure area under local anesthesia.

Since price quotations are not made over the telephone or web, our free consultation includes a discusion of your goals, review of your medical issues, if any, physical examination, surgical options and a written estimate of cost. We will clarify surgical risk and benefits and make an honest appraisal of the expected recovery period. This is an excellent time, especially in more complicated cases, to bring a written list of questions; often your spouse, significant other or a friend can help you recall questions and the answers from the meeting.
