The Department of Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a board certified or board eligible plastic and reconstructive surgeon to join our faculty in Little Rock, Arkansas at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level. The candidate would receive a competitive salary, benefits and academic appointment on the faculty at UAMS commensurate with experience.
Applicants must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The focus of the Plastic Surgeon Section is to provide reconstructive and restorative surgical care for the patients who come to UAMS from across Arkansas and beyond. UAMS is the only level-1 trauma center in the state, and has an adjacent, highly regarded cancer center. We are seeking a reconstructive surgeon with broad interests; the practice will include both traumatic and cancer reconstruction, wound care, and burn reconstruction. Collaboration with clinicians and scientists in the institution is encouraged. Applicants must possess a strong interest in the teaching of students and residents. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in Orthopedic Surgery, ENT, Trauma Surgery, Oncologic Surgery and Neurosurgery. Advanced training in microsurgical reconstructive breast surgery is desirable. This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position with attending staff privileges at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science and at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
