Reconstructive breast surgery is usually performed due to an acquired absence of a breast or breasts (ICD- 10 CM Z90.1X) that results, most commonly, from a personal history of breast cancer (ICD-10-CM Z85.3). However, there are other conditions for reconstructive breast surgery – such as congenital conditions – that must be indicated.
