Criteria for Top Surgery in Female-To-Male Transgender Patients According to the WPATH Standards of Care
The specific criteria outlined in the WPATH Standards of Care for determining eligibility for top surgery in female-to-male transgender patients include psychological evaluation, hormone therapy, age requirements, real-life experience, and informed consent. These criteria are designed to ensure that individuals have a comprehensive understanding of the surgery, are psychologically prepared, have undergone some degree of hormonal masculinization, and have had sufficient time to explore and adapt to their gender identity.
The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) accredits ASPS to provide educational activities and material with Category 1 CME credits.
