The 2019 CPT code set includes 355 code changes that reflect new technology and scientific advancements, and allow for reporting of patient population and care coordination services, as well as general updates to ensure codes reflect “common language.” In general, most of these changes will have little impact on plastic surgeons. However, the ones that will most impact plastic surgeons are the changes made to reporting for skin biopsies.
