As the long, cold winter draws to a close, millions of Americans look forward to grilling out and camping – two activities that rely heavily upon fires of one kind or another. Unfortunately, burns from fire result in more than 450,000 hospital admissions and E.R. visits each year. As it did in ICD-9-CM, coding a burn in ICD-10 requires information about the body site, depth, extent and cause of the burn.
