Clinical
Fellowship
Requirements:
All
applicants
are
expected
to
have
completed
a
residency
in
plastic
surgery
and
to
be
certified
by
the
Royal
College
of
Surgeons
of
Canada,
or
be
Canadian/American
board
eligible
plastic
surgeons.
A
working
knowledge
of
the
French
language
is
mandatory.
The
applicants
are
expected
to
be
eligible
for
licensing
by
the
Collège
des
Médecins
du
Québec.
Fellowship
Description:
The
1-year
fellowship
in
pediatric
plastic
surgery
and
craniofacial
surgery
is
a
clinical
based
program
designed
to
expose
the
fellow
to
the
complete
spectrum
of
pediatric
plastic
surgery
and
craniofacial
surgery.
The
fellow
will
be
an
active
member
of
the
cranial-orbital
and
maxillo-facial
multidisciplinary
teams,
the
cleft
lip/palate
teams,
congenital
hand
team,
pediatric
burn
team,
and
congenital
ear
malformation
team.
The
fellow
will
be
exposed
to
facial
reanimation,
brachial
plexus,
and
pediatric
microsurgery
during
the
year.
The
fellow
will
be
expected
to
participate
in
all
aspects
of
clinical
practice
and
divisional
activities
including
call,
resident
teaching,
microsurgical
and
cadaveric
lab
participation,
and
clinical
research
activities.
The
fellowship
is
designed
to
include
clinical
exposure
to
microsurgical
reconstruction
of
the
facial
skeleton
and
soft
tissues
with
the
use
of
virtual
surgical
planning
and
computer
aided
manufacturing.
The
fellow
will
be
an
active
participant
on
the
Vascularized
Composite
Allotransplantation
team
at
the
Hôpital
Maisonneuve
Rosemont.
