The George Washington University Department of
Surgery is seeking a full-time faculty member and plastic surgeon for the
Division of Plastic Surgery. We are particularly interested in candidates with
a strong commitment to post-traumatic and oncologic reconstruction, with an
emphasis on reconstruction of ailments of the breast, extremity, and
trunk/perineum, as well as lymphatic and craniomaxillofacial surgery.
Academic rank and compensation will be
commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is expected to
begin as early as Fall 2026.
The chosen candidate will provide comprehensive
clinical expertise in post-traumatic and oncologic reconstruction, with
particular emphasis on breast reconstruction—including oncoplastic,
implant-based, and autologous microvascular techniques—as well as extremity,
trunk/perineal, lymphatic, and craniomaxillofacial surgery. They will also
actively participate in multidisciplinary patient care at The George Washington
University Hospital, while teaching and mentoring physician assistant students,
medical students, and residents. Additionally, they will engage in scholarly
activity and research, and contribute meaningfully to divisional, departmental,
and institutional service initiatives.
Applicants must be board-eligible or
board-certified in plastic surgery and fellowship-trained in microvascular
surgery or a similar subspecialty at the time of appointment. Applicants must
also have demonstrated interest and/or expertise in post-traumatic and
oncologic reconstruction and eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia.
