The Department of Plastic Surgery, Maxillofacial and Oral Health provides comprehensive care for a variety of patients including programs in Adult Reconstruction, Pediatric Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery, Dentistry, Aesthetic Surgery and Hand Surgery. There is an ACGME accredited 6-year plastic surgery residency program within the department consisting of 2 integrated residents per year and teaching is considered a fundamental expectation of the faculty. Much of the Hand Surgery outpatient work will occur at the state-of-the-art Orthopedic Center on Ivy Road, which is one of the largest free-standing musculoskeletal centers on the east coast. Plastic Surgery outpatient care will be performed at the Plastic Surgery clinic located in West Complex on the University Hospital grounds. Additionally, a subset of adult reconstructive plastic surgery care will be delivered at several sites outside of Charlottesville, including Culpeper Medical Center.
