My wife recently had breast augmentation: sub-muscular, highly-cohesive silicone gel implants, smooth, round, moderate-plus profile. Her natural breasts were 34B : 136.5 CCs (right) & 158.1 CCs (left). The implants resulted in CCs of: 521.5 (right), 513.1 (left). She is 5'5", 122 lbs. Can anyone guess-timate what her cup size will be? I'd love to surprise her for Christmas with new bras. Thanks!
I'm a little confused by your numbers. A 34B is usually about 350-400 cc in volume. It looks like the implants added were around 350-400 cc in size? If so, that would add about two cup sizes to your wife's bra. However, bras are not very standardized so she could be a full C in one brand and a D in another. Bras are also tricky to find a comfortable fit. Likely better to give her a generous gift certificate to some nice bra shop so she can pick them out herself. Maybe just ask to tag along as her "peanut gallery" in the dressing room! Happy shopping!
Agree with Debra. Not only are there many brands but many different cuts such as “Demi-bras” (partial coverage), full coverage, push up, lateral-medial pressure both for super cleavage, underwire, for super exciting nights out the silicone adhesive bra with no straps in back for dresses with plunging scooped backs and dresses with plunging sides showing lateral cleavage and so on and so on. This should be up to the comfort level of the lady and how daring she is ready to be. I vote for being member of the peanut gallery. Don’t go overboard, she may not like the results of her surgery.
There is no correlation between implant or breast volume and bra cups. Further, it is irrelevant. What's done is done, so a better question is: Is she happy with her appearance in the mirror? If not, it is still important to wait for the implants to settle (drop and fluff) before deciding that the implants are too big or too small.
Thank you for sharing your question. Unfortunately there is no consensus on implant cc amount and ultimate cup size as each manufacturer employs different methods of construction and evaluation. I would favor you giving your wife a gift certificate or accompany her on the purchase to keep things simple.
Hi Alan! I am glad your wife is doing well. As the other surgeons have mentioned it is hard to guess cup size based on just volume and there is also a ton of variability in sizing for bra manufacturers. I second the recommendation to offer a gift card instead. And remember that she should wait at least 4-6 weeks after surgery before purchasing new bras to let the breasts settle and the swelling to completely resolve. Have a great Christmas!
