Rhinoplasty for patient who had ischemic stroke 2 years ago

Hi I would like to ask an expert. Im interested in Rhinoplasty. However, Dec 2017 while I’m pregnant, I had what they call “Ischemic Stroke“ been hospitalized for about 8 days but got dully recovered. I gave birth on June 2018 with Pitocin and epidural, no birth or delivery complications. Now that I feel great, I want to get nose job around May next year. Is GA safe for me? Please advise.

Procedure: Rhinoplasty
Location: Port Hueneme, CA

That depends on the cause/initiating factor and the circumstances surrounding the stroke to determine the stroke type (ischemic/thrombotic or hemorrhagic). The cause could have been preeclampsia, eclampsia, "HELLP (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelets) syndrome or a blood vessel abnormality. If it was a blood vessel abnormality that has to be treated first. If it was one of the others and ischemic then controlled prophylactic blood thinning around the time of rhinoplasty surgery under the supervision of a hematologist would be prudent.

I would send you to your primary care physician or your Neurologist for medical clearance for general anesthesia. The anesthesiologist would also have input for you to make an informed decision.
