getting weight loss surgery in a month, have some hardness ( not much) on inner thighs, leg swelling

hello,

so I am 448 lbs ,5'11 and my BMI is about 60. I am having weight loss surgery in 1 month. I have been having some swollen ankles for the past few months and now I feel some hard skin on my inner thighs. After a search I see they say lymphedema could be the cause( I guess early stage).

will this go away after surgery? its not very big. the hard parts are the size of my palm

Procedure: Lymphedema Treatment
Location: surnise, GU

There are many causes for your symptoms. An evaluation by your physician is important before the surgery to reach a diagnosis and proper advise.

See your family physician and your weight loss surgeon before the surgery as early as possible.

Risk factors for lymphedema include, obesity, blood clots, infections, surgery, trauma, and vascular disease. If you are otherwise healthy, your lymphedema may improve with weight loss. Find a clinic that specializes in lymphedema - they are hard to find.
