I had to have a hysterectomy five months ago,and my stomach is really huge and don't seem to be going down at all. Before the surgery ,I didn't have much stomach. I don't like my body!!!
A tummy tuck (Abdominoplasty) is routinely performed after a hysterectomy. At times, these two operations are done during the same operation. If your hysterectomy was performed laparoscopically, it would be unusual for you to have prolonged abdominal swelling. If you have excess skin, with or without excess fat, and separation of your stomach muscle, an abdominoplasty can improve your body contour. Abdominoplasty can often be performed without the need for drains. A consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon is recommended.

If you want to really, really love your body, skip the tummy tuck and have a Brazilian Butt Lift, Miami style. Can be done even with modest extra skin. Avoid dog ears and ugly scars. Show off your new tiny waist, spectacular hips, projecting buttocks, beautiful Butterfly, super cute cuffs. Tummy tuck? - what for?
Hello Denise. A combination of both procedures is commonly perform when the patient health condition allows it. You could have had both of them, hysterectomy and Tummy Tuck, at the same time. But obviously it didn't happened.
You may get your Tummy Tuck after 2 to 3 month after your hysterectomy, depending if it was an open or a close one. The good thing of doing it after the hysterectomy, is that it can be combined with Liposculpture and BBL if needed.
Thank you for sharing your question. It is very common to have a tummy tuck after a hysterectomy and I would recommend getting evaluated to ensure it is the best treatment option.
