Can I be allergic to Voluma

Had Voluma in tear troughs and cheeks 3 mos. ago by Board Certified PA. Got rigid "worms" under eyes and had injection to remove.

Rigid worm can back under one eye and saw different doc for 2nd opinion.

She says having an immune response and wants to put me on erythromycin for 3 weeks which I am reluctant to do.

Thanks for input.

Procedure: Dermal Fillers

Recurrent swelling of the lower eyelid can occur following injection of lower eyelid fillers. Voluma is commonly used for cheek volumization because of its firmness. It less commonly used for the tear troughs for the same reasons. In some patients, pressure on the lymphatics can cause persistent swelling. Treatment for this is dissolving the filler as you have already had. A second round of the dissolving injection can be considered. With time, this usually resolves.

Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry to hear of your issues. Reactions to fillers can occur and based on your narrative I would continue to treat your undereyes with hyaluronidase to correct the issue.
