I appreciate the earlier answers. What I'm wondering is whether fillers, whichever is used, will help fill and reduce the crepe or will it simply look like plumper crepey skin? Thanks.
In my experience, the fullness helps the visual appearance of the "crepey" skin. The HA products like FDA approved Restylane Lyft, are not permanent so would need to be re-injected as needed.
Best of luck

Dear Stephen,
Hello and thank you for your excellent question. If performed correctly, the fillers should also improve the appearance of the skin by making it look fuller, and younger. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!
As an individual ages, we loss soft tissue volume. This shows up in many parts of the body, and eventually in their hands.
Refilling the dorsum of the hands with fillers and fat will plumb the areas and make the skin look less crepey. It is worth a try , and you might add a BBL treatment to improve the brown spots as well.
The fillers will certainly help. You can also improve the skin itself by doing some laser resurfacing with a fractionated non ablative laser (for example Resurfx by Lumenis) or some similar device. This laser resurfacing will help improve the architecture of the skin itself while the filler will plump up the lost volume.
I perform a good amount of hand rejuvenation, mostly with hyaluronic acid filler (I use the Restylane family). To answer your question, the injection of filler into the top of the hands will definitely help reduce the appearance of your crepey skin. One of the major reasons the skin appears this way is due to loss of volume as we age. Filler will replace that lost volume and help plump and stretch the skin in this area, thus reducing the crepey appearance. I hope this helps and best wishes!
Hand rejuvenation is best addressed with multiple procedures. Fat grafting, or filler and help to make hands look more youthful. Crepey skin can be improved with laser skin tightening, and dark spots can be faded, or eliminated completely with peels, or lasers.
A custom consultation with a plastic surgeon to address your specific concerns is a great place to start.
