Mini facelift

To learn how many mini facelifts have been performed do you ask the surgeon or obtain a report from a database.

A surgeon can do 5000 facelifts or 100 facelifts, it doesn’t mean that one surgeon is better than the other. Your best to see some of their results in their office and discuss your care with a given surgeon in the office. Best of luck

Dear RSPReady,

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. I concur with Dr. Wallach on this one. It is not the number, but the quality of the facelift that is important. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

There are a lot of variations, degrees of complexity of the actual work done, proper analysis of the problem and expectations to be evaluated , the short , medium and long term results to be considered , non surgical vs,. Surgical options and so much more that has to be also discussed.

Moreover the quality of the result is so much more important than a named procedure such as a mini facelift. Many times it’s hard to know what one means and what one uses such terms.

As the other surgeons have said , it’s important to meet, discuss , analyze, the actual problem vs. a procedure as many times other strategies will be considered, options discussed etc.

I recommend that you get comfortable and build trust with a surgeon, an office and discuss the wishes and problems and let them give you recommendations of what procedures or treatment options are best for you.

There are many different types of Mini facelift. The operation should be focused on the area of concern and deformity identified by the surgeon and the patient. Experienced Plastic Surgeons will have the versatility to treat what ever is necessary. You should ask for samples of their before and after of similar operations so that you can see what they perceive as a good result for your problem.,

The true number is not what is important, what is important that you both agree upon the goal of the surgery.

Thank you for your question. There is not a database available to "see" how many mini facelifts a Dr. has performed. Ask a board certified plastic surgeon to evaluate you and make suggestions on the appropriate procedure to get your desired result. They should be able to tell you how many of that particular procedure they have done. I do agree, however, with the answers above that quantity and quality are not necessarily the same thing.

Best of luck

As answered above there is not a database for the experience of different surgeons, and mini-facelift can have several different definitions. I do a substantial number of facelifts in my practice and would be happy to do a free consultation for you. I am located in Leawood at Associated Plastic Surgeons, 913-451-3722
