Breast lift

Hello DR I have a few questions.

I am 7 years out of a BA surgery, I went to different surgeon today for a revision consultation and he immediately told me i needed a lift. I was surprised, my nipple is no where near past my breast line or fold BUT I did ask him for a high profile. Could this be why he’s recommending a lift. I have had some weight gain since surgery.

Procedure: Breast Augmentation
Location: victoria, TX

Hi Janell

It could be because you wanted more projection (you asked for a high profile implant). Because you went to a surgeon who was new to you, and most likely you paid good money for your consultation, it would be best to ask the surgeon to explain to you why he recommended a lift. Most of us very much like to explain things to our patients. It is important for you and your surgeon to be on the same page and have shared goals regarding your proposed surgery. Best wishes for an excellent result.

It is hard to say without an examination why you would need a lift. There are several possibilities including the descent of the breast tissue over the implant. I would recommend asking your surgeon for more clarification on why he suggested a lift for you. If you're not happy with the answer, then seek out a consultation with another surgeon using the Find A Surgeon feature on this site.

Thank you for sharing your question. Unfortunately without photographs or an in-person examination, it is difficult to offer advice. I would seek out several consultations in order to get the best advice.
