Chest tubes

My daughter had a surgery when she was 5 years old that required chest tubes. Now at 15, the areas where the tubes were is indented, almost as much as say a bellybutton. At 15, this bothers her, I was wondering if this can be corrected and if so the risks.

Thanks

Yes, these can be fixed. I typically fix them with just a local anesthetic and it can be done awake with minimal risk.

Thank you for sharing your question. It should be possible to improve the appearance through a surgical scar revision, which can be performed under local anesthesia in the surgeon's office. Hope this helps.
