Ok so I’m not plus size but I do have big breast I’m 18 but since like 8 I developed faster than everyone else it was cool for a while until I started getting the wrong attention and having back issues. I’m 5’3 pretty small but I have 44D cup size maybe a couple sizes bigger and I can’t live with them any more. Am I eligible for the surgery?
You certainly can have a breast reduction You should see a plastic surgeon to determine what your options are. You will also have to check with your insurance company about their criteria for approval.
You are certainly a candidate for breast reduction surgery. See a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your medical history and goals. If you are asking if insurance will cover your procedure, that depends on your insurance company. Call them and find out what their medical requirements are for surgery and whether or not your specific plan will cover breast reductions.
Best of luck

Thank you for your question. You do sound like a good candidate for a breast reduction. I'm in Atlanta and would be happy to see you for a consultation and to answer questions specific to you.
Dear Nadia,
Hello and thank you for your excellent question. Based on your description, you sound like you could be a good candidate for a breast reduction. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!
Nadia,
Thank you for sending your question and you sound like you are a good candidate for a breast reduction. You are welcome to come in for a visit and can be evaluated after a formal consultation. If you wish to have your insurance company try to cover the surgery then you will need a referral and a letter of medical necessity. Otherwise the surgery can be done as a cosmetic breast reduction. Based on your story I feel you will get tremendous improvement.
Breast reduction seems like a good option for you. There are many methods. I would look for a doctor who uses a vertical or limited incision reduction for the best result and least scar.
