Surgery to eliminate “Doggy Ears” after my Tummy Tuck

Hello

Im a 33 year old male. 11 years ago I had an abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) to remove excess skin (from being overweight). My stomach is still tight but sadly after surgery I was left with these “doggy ears” (Im told its called) folds of skin on both sides of my hips that protrude. Is there a procedure to remove them? I also spent 11k on the tummy tuck & am hoping this would be much cheaper?

Procedure: Tummy Tuck
Location: Magnolia, TX

I don’t think these are actually dog ears. What you have is just a little bit of excess fat still above the incision line. My guess is you could take care of this with a little in office liposuction and potentially just a little bit of skin excision. It should be a very minor easy thing to take care of. Best of luck! This is an easy fix which can be done in the office with just a local anesthetic. It should not cost too much. If you can, go back to your original plastic surgeon and find out.

Dog ears are easily treated with a minor procedure in the office and it should not cost that much. Basically the area is injected with local anesthesia, the excess tissue is cut away, and the wound is re-sutured. Typically this is done within few months of the original surgery.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Yes, this could be easily be taken care of during an in-office procedure at substantially reduced costs relative to the TT. Be sure to see a specialist in consultation.

This is not uncommon after abdominoplasty, and this can be easily improved in the office with local anesthesia. It does appear to be a bit of loose skin that can be removed in the office with minimal downtime.
