Vape before surgery

Next week i have a breast augmentation.

I am a non smoker But vaping now for a year. I didnt listen to my doctor that said stop smoking 6 weeks before but i quit vaping today. Now im worried it will affect my surgery. But i am more worried about is that i dont smoke only vape, would that be more dangerous? As smokers body is already used to nicotine and there body may not be sensitive as mine?

Procedure: Breast Augmentation

Nicotine is nicotine. The delivery method is not that important. I would be open and honest with your surgeon. Let them decide how to proceed.

Nicotine one week before surgery will most definitely affect your surgery and increase your risk of complications. I would postpone your surgery until you are able to quit for 6 weeks before and after as recommended by your surgeon.

The doctor told what he or she did for a reason. If you do not follow your doctors orders you are a non-compliant patient and more apt to develop complications. I myself would not want to treat anybody that is not going to follow my advice because I want to minimize possible complications. These questions need to be addressed to your surgeon.

For the good surgery result with less complication stop smoking before and after surgery must recommend you to do. But please ask your surgeon and let them give you and advice for the next step.
