Can my septum be lowered?

My nose ends very abruptly, creating a harsh angle underneath. I'm wondering if my septum can be pulled down a little bit to lessen the harshness of that angle and shorten the distance between my nose and my upper lip. The picture on the right is meant to kinda show what I mean.

Procedure: Rhinoplasty
Location: Grand Haven, MI

A retracted columella (the lower part of the nose appears unusually high) can usually be improved with a columella graft. This is accomplished with a strip of cartilage taken from the septum and placed into the retracted portion to push it into a more natural appearing position. A Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with rhinoplasty experience can evaluate and treat this situation.

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. If your left image is your current image, your angle is totally normal and I would not pursue the right sided image.

Helppp thank you for your question. Can't give a true diagnosis and plan with just pictures over the internet, but it seems like your "columellar-labial angle" is perfect! Surgery to correct this would be to harvest a piece of cartilage from your septum and create a small graft that will give you the look you want. But that would be alot of money and recovery. If you truly desire that obtuse of a columellar-labial angle, give consideration to liquid rhinoplasty - you need a plastic surgeon who is 1. Board Certified in Plastic Surgery; 2. Does alot of rhinoplasty; 3. Does alot of liquid rhinoplasty. I would use something like Voluma, a thick consistency hyaluronic acid gel, and I would inject with a cannula because the nose is maybe the most risky place for blindness after filler injections. Good luck!
