Length of time

Hello I had panni surgery 6 months ago and have a hernia (not surgery related) in my stomach. My surgeon wants to remove it through my belly button but I’m worried it’s too soon to open that area back up. How long should I wait? I don’t want to risk loosening that skin.

Procedure: Panniculectomy
Location: Rochelle, IL

At this point, a hernia repair will not affect you panniculectomy results.

Thank you for sharing your question. A hernia repair after six months should be fine to pursue without significant risk. Hope this helps.
