I had fractured my nose about a year ago and recently it’s been stinging and when it do I can smell and taste a little blood in the back of my throat also I realized that the side of the nose like the bridge has been fractured away from the septum. I just want to fix the fractured part of my nose. So my question is what procedure would have to be done and would insurance cover it?
Hello,
Most likely you can repair the fracture and straighten the nose through insurance. I would recommend a virtual consult with a provider ASAP if you think you have ongoing bleeding. I wish you the best.

A fractured nose 1 year ago would require an open reduction, probable packing and a splint. Insurance should cover straightening a nose from an injury. It does not cover removal of a dorsal hump or tip work. You can schedule a virtual Telemedicine consultation and arrange an in person consultation in the coming weeks.
Good day and thank you for your question. Dr. Monasebian, our Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, will be able to address your concerns as he does have expertise in nasal surgery and rhinoplasty. He would have to see you in person to examine your nose as well as any radiographs or x-rays. We would be happy to see you if you are in the New York City area. Medical insurance may help cover the costs of the procedure if deemed medically necessary which can be determined at your consultation. We look forward to meeting you soon.

A blood in your throat doesn't sound normal, so it needs to be checked, other than that i'm sure the insurance would cover the rhinoplasty, being it a post traumatic procedure.
