Weak chin

I have hated my chin and jawline for years. I have previously been told I have a weak chin. Would a chin implant help define my jawline?

Hi there, indeed there is room for improvement in the contour and projection of your chin and lower jaw line. The options are basically two.

One is a permanent silicone implant, it is a quick procedure (around 30 min) there are 2 different incision approaches, one is under the chin and the second is from inside the mouth. Minimal pain involved.

Second option is contouring the chin and jawline with either some type of filler or fat transfer. The filler solution is cheaper but will need redoing every so often. The fat transfer option is pricier but generally will last for many years if not permanent.

I routinely operate on UK patients that travel to Athens Greece to have their procedures done.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Yes, you are a candidate for a chin augmentation and this can take the form of dermal fillers, a silicone implant, or an osseous genioplasty which moves a portion of your "chin" bone forward

Good day and thank you for your question. Dr. Monasebian, our Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, will be able to address your concerns. He is also a trained Maxillofacial surgeon. He would have to see you in person to examine your chin and discuss options available. Genioplasty may be performed with an implant which Dr. Monasebian places through incisions inside the mouth or by cutting the bone and advancing it. We would be happy to see you if you are in the New York City area. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Regards, Dr. Monasebian and Park Avenue Plastic Surgery.
