Consultations

Hello, I was wondering how long it takes for a doctor to get back to you about a consultation meeting after sending an email to them about it. I emailed a doctor that was preferred to me by you guys, and it’s been about 2 months but the surgeon has not gotten back to me... what should I do?

Procedure: Body Contouring
Location: Hollis, ME

I think that the easiest way to contact the doctors office is to call on the phone. Not all doctors will respond to these emails.

If you have the physicians name you can secure his or her phone number. Then dial the office number to arrange a consultation appointment with his office staff. Best to call on a weekday between 9 and 5 . Good luck...,

I would recommend calling the office during regular business hours. An email can end up in a spam folder accidentally or have been deleted. Calling the office will be your best bet to get in touch with the practice and arrange an appointment.

Dear Caelenmerrill,

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. I will typically try to email, text, and /or call 2 or 3 times. If there is no response, then I will move on, and find someone else. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

Hello and thank you for the question. I am sorry to hear that you did not receive a response from the physician you emailed. The email may have been missed or the response may have gotten lost . While there is variation in the time offices take to respond to email inquiries, two months is certainly too long. I would suggest emailing again or calling the office directly if you want to pursue further with the physician you emailed. Hope this helps.

You are well past the point they should have gotten back to you. Pick up the phone. Many offices don't get the emails, or they are filtered by the email program, or the person in the office answering them is overwhelmed. The phone is by far the best way to go.

The plastic surgeons are usually much more responsive than that. However, it may be going to his spam folder. We try and answer within day/two. Dr. Edward Domanskis is Certified by American Board of Plastic Surgery
