Breast Reduction

I'm 18 and I have been researching about breast reductions for a while. I am a 32DD. My neck and back always seem to hurt and I chafe in between the breasts. Not to mention the emotional damage they have caused me over the years. I talked to my parents about getting a reduction and they are very against the idea. Would getting a reduction be a good idea for me? Could insurance cover it? Thank you!

Procedure: Breast Reduction

You don't say why your parents are opposed so I can't suggest how to approach them, aside from making them aware of the problems you are having. Insurance might cover the operation if you meet the criteria of the insurance company. The operation is very successful in relieving symptoms caused by very large breasts.

Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry to hear of your breast difficulties. Based on your narrative you sound like a good candidate and are of age to make the best decision for yourself. Insurance may be able to cover the cost under certain plans and based on your degree of symptoms. This can be determined after your in-person consultation with an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon. Hope this helps.
