There are many different ways to perform a breast lift. What would be best for you It’s difficult to say without performing an appropriate exam.

There are a few different breast lift procedures. Most of them still result in surface scars that go around the border of the areola, then vertically down to the crease and horizontally for a short distance along the crease. It is performed as an out patient procedure with a fairly easy recovery. If you are planning to travel abroad for the surgery I would recommend staying 7-10 days to be sure everything is healing well before you return.

To answer your other question - some fat can be added to the small dimples. That could be done at the same time as your lift if you wanted.

Dear Damaris,

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. The procedure of a breast lift is essentially to lift the nipple to an ideal position, and trim the breast skin and tissue around it to make a cone that approximates the "ideal" breast. However, depending on your anatomy and desires, the techniques used for this very widely. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

Hello and thank you for your question!

Some points to consider:

• The breast lift surgery removes excess skin (but not breast tissue) to lift and reshape the breast.

• May be combined with breast augmentation or liposuction.

• Incision options are based on patient preference and anatomy and include a lollipop or anchor type incision

• The surgery takes approximately 2 hours of surgery under general anesthesia

• Most patients return to work in 1-2 weeks and full activity in 4-6 weeks

If you desire increased volume along with the lift, then this procedure can be combined with breast augmentation to create more projection and upper breast fullness. At my office, we offer imaging with the Canfield 3D Vectra which allows us to simulate different lift incisions, implant styles and sizes with your image. We have found this can really help with the decision-making process.

I recommend seeking consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Best of luck!

A full breast lift reshapes and elkevates the breast how it was was usually pre-pregnancy or weight loss. A breast implant can be added for more volume. This is one of the most common procedurees that I do.
