I am a 20 year old female and my breasts are currently at a size where I experience a lot of neck, shoulder, and back pain and I cannot find clothes that fit me. It also seems that my breasts keep growing regardless of weight gain or loss. I want to look into a breast reduction but am unsure if I should even start if my breasts seem to keep growing.
This is a good question to discuss with a plastic surgeon and determine why your breasts are growing. An in person evaluation is the best way to start. If your symptoms are severe, it may be appropriate to do a reduction now.
Thank you for sharing your question. You can obtain a breast reduction as some patients are more hormonally responsive than others but it would be advisable to find out the cause of the continual enlargement before undergoing any surgical procedure.
While breasts may continue to grow into a woman’s early twenties, if the size of your breasts are debilitating or painful, they’re not going to get any smaller. I would suggest going ahead with a reduction. You may need a second reductive procedure down the line, but why put off something that could make such a positive difference in your life now? I would suggest making a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to find out what type of breast reduction is best for you since there are several minimal scar technique options now available!
