Breast Reduction and tank top lipo

Hello , I want to get a breast reduction and a liposuction of the underarm and bulging surrounding area. Would you recommend to have both procedures done at the same time or do the breast reduction first and later on do the liposuction. Thank you in advance for your response.

Procedure: Breast Reduction
Location: Kansas City, MO

It is possible to do both at the same time. While a breast reduction maybe covered by insurance if you qualify based on their criteria, the lipo contouring may not be covered. Good Luck

You would need to be examined by a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine your options. The reduction itself may rid you of much of the lateral chest fullness , although some liposuction may be needed to clean up that area nicely. Use the Find A Surgepn tool to locate an ASPS member near you. Call to see if you need a referral from your insurance.

Many times Liposuction and a breast reduction can be performed at the same time. It really depends upon your overall health.

Go for it Tulaniki! This is called the “bra roll” and it is a very simple area to treat. I treat this area routinely while doing a Brazilian Butt Lift, does not take long to do and results are generally predictable. But I would not stop there. I would suggest lipo of entire abdomen, flanks and lower back. The resulting flattened torso with “snatched” waist will highlight the beautiful results on breasts. You will find a good number of plastic surgeons who feel comfortable doing this in Miami. Good Luck!

As long as you are reasonably healthy and understand that the liposuction is more cosmetic and will not be covered by your insurance, you should be able to do both at the same time.

Thank you for your question and doing your homework with ASPS. Breast reduction and liposuction of the sides of the chest and upper arms are frequently performed together. Safety always comes first , so it is best to have an in-person consultation with a board-certified ASPS member surgeon in your area. You and your surgeon can work together to develop a surgical plan that is best suited to your individual needs, budget, and timeline. Best wishes on a great result and speedy recovery!

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

Agree with the others here. Combining liposuction of these areas with a breast reduction makes sense and is commonly done. It helps reshape this entire area. Breast reduction is often covered by insurance while the liposuction typically isn't.

Combining these procedures will mean one less trip to the operating room and one less recovery period (time off from work, etc.). You'll likely get a nice result (look better, less back and neck pain) if you see an experienced board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
