Orthognathic surgery & Genioplasty VS Chin Implant

Should I get braces following orthognathic jaw surgery with genioplasty to help my profile or get a chin implant?

I have a weak chin, convex profile and no jaw line. I have a overjet/overbite and my upper and lower jaws are misaligned. However, I have beautiful straight teeth and have always been asked if I had braces. I am mainly concerned about my chin and jaw line for Aesthetic reasons.

Procedure: Chin Surgery
Location: sudbury, ON - Canada

Good day and thank you for your questions. Dr. Monasebian, our Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, will answer your questions. He is also trained in Maxillofacial surgery and has worked over 30 years in treating the face. Dr. Monasebian would have to see you and examine you to look at your teeth as well as the rest of your face. If your bite is off and you have a malocclusion, then the best way to treat is through a combination of orthodontics (braces) and surgery. Of course this determination can only be made after a full examination. Advancing the mandible will elongate the chin as well. We would be happy to see you if you are in the New York City area. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Regards, Dr. Monasebian and Park Avenue Plastic Surgery.

Orthognathic surgery will strengthen and give better definition to your lower face, correct the malocclusion, and add prominence to your chin, potentially eliminating the need for an implant.
