Lipo360 vs tummy tuck 360 with fat transfer to the buttocks

What is the difference in a tummy tuck 360 and lipo 360? Is a fat transfer the same as a Brazilian but lift or butt augmentation? If not, what's the difference.

Procedure: Liposuction
Location: Wilmington, CA

These are just marketing tool names for the different procedures. Lipo 360 usually refers to lipo of the abdomen And waste. The abdomino plasty 360 would also include lipo suction of the waste. It is best to be seen in person to be properly evaluated.

Thanks for your question and doing our homework with ASPS member surgeons. A tummy tuck 360 generally includes both tummy tuck (removal of excess skin and fat) along with liposuction of the flanks and back. Lipo 360 does not include the removal of excess skin from the front and only includes liposuction of the abdomen, hips, flanks, and back. It is always best to see a board-certified ASPS member surgeon for an in-person consultation. You can partner with your surgeon to develop a surgical plan that is customized to your body, budget, and timeline. Best wishes for a great result and speedy recovery.

Tummy tuck 360 involves surgical excision of skin & fat on the front of the body with the closure line scar positioned so it can be hidden by undergarments and liposuction of the front, sides and back. Lipo 360 involves just circumferential liposuction. Brazilian butt lift is removal of fat by liposuction and injection of that fat into the buttocks. It is a fat transfer butt augmentation.

Hi Kai, These sound like one surgeons terms for a variety of procedures. I often will do liposuction of the front (abdomen) and the back (flanks) during the same procedure...which I guess you could call "360 lipo". I also often perform posterior flank liposuction (love handle suction) then turn the patient and perform an abdominoplasty. For patients with massive weight loss I will sometimes excise skin all the way around, also called a lower body lift. See my web site LampertMD.com for more info. Make sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon to have your questions better answered after consultation.

Dear Kai,

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. Lipo360 is liposuction alone, whereas a tummy tuck involves removing extra skin and possibly tightening the abdominal muscles as well. Fat transfer to the buttocks is often referred to as a Brazilian Butt Lift, or Butt Augmentation. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

There is no such thing as a tummy tuck 360. And there should never be such a thing. I have done over 3,000 Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs) and continue to do over 120 per month. A BBL comes in two parts:,1) 360 Lipo which means circumferential lipo (hence “360”) including abdomen, waist, flanks, entire back (upper and lower) including bra rolls which so many of us hate., 2) fat transfer to buttocks-anybody advocating 750 cc or less per buttock is offering you a “make believe” BBL. Go elsewhere. I have numerous photos of patients who were told be other plastic surgrons they “obviously” need a tummy tuck and just had BBL and are delighted. The extra skin retracted and draped nicely over abdomen, plus they got a true 360 Lipo and great looking buttocks and hips, no 2 foot long scar with dog ears., Unless you are a massive weight loss patient, a tummy tuck is an outdated procedure. Plastic surgeons will strongly diagree with me but my photos before and after prove it. Text 415 858-3112
