Surgeon told me not to worry about the size or CCs I precisely want and said I should focus on bringing in pictures I like to discuss in post-op. He plans to base the surgery off the image and what we agree on beforehand and will determine the volume I need by putting a “spacer” in and slowly adding air to measure how much I said I desire while referring to the images.
This is an unusual approach, but I don’t think that is dangerous. It is difficult, however to guarantee a match to another person’s result.
The results of augmentation mammoplasty would depend on the size, shape and measurement of the breast you have. It also depend on position of the breast on your chest. The shape of your chest rib shape and boney structure, skin and breast tissue and fat. Position of the nipple and infra-mammary line.
Need for a lift or not.
Pictures of models or from nude magazines are all photoshopped. The use of photos of models or nude magazines are only to show what shape, approximate size you like not the results you will have, then can tell you if it is possible or not, and what is needed to APPROXIMATE THAT SHAPE. but you will never get the same as in the pictures.
Thank you for sharing your question. In most cases the size can be narrowly identified during your preoperative appointment and a sizer is not needed but it depends on your starting anatomy and relative breast asymmetry. It is not a "wrong" way but rather a conservative approach. Hope this helps.
