Does chin implant really give a natural look to ones face I really doubt?! I'm thinking of undergoing a chin augmentation but I think it is not possible to elongate the mandible with the help of grafts other than correcting the underbites and overbites (based on my knowledge). And the Orthognathic surgery is costly when compared to chin implant. Is it possible to achieve a natural look using implants?
Chin implants generally increase the anterior projection on the chin but don't make it longer in the vertical plane. Whether or not a natural look can be achieved depends so much on your pre operative anatomy, but in general I would say yes, anatyralnlook can be achieved.
Hello and thank you for your excellent question. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!
