Is body contouring for removing fat in places needed? Also whats the average cost for the abdominal and chest fat removal? (Overweight)
In order to adequately quote you a fee, you would have to be seen in person to determine what surgeries would be appropriate for you. Good luck.
Dear Jonah,
Hello and thank you for your excellent question. Body contouring refers to the whole spectrum of body shaping procedures, amongst which is liposuction and skin excision. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

It is really difficult to tell you without seeing photographs of what concerns you. If it is just liposuction, then the costs can be as low as $4500. If actual skin/tissue excision, then more. I am President of the American Society of Bariatric Plastic Surgeons and this is my specialty.
hello,
Fat removal is typically performed with the Liposuction procedure. A very general idea of cost for Liposuction to the abdomen and chest would be about $6,000. This is approximately what it would cost in my Baltimore Surgery center. Most surgeons can give you a firmer estimate of cost with a Virtual Consultation where they view your photos.
Since you mentioned that you are overweight, keep in mind that most surgeons have a BMI criteria to ensure your safety. Losing some excess weight before your procedure is always a good thing, even if you meet the criteria. Hope this helps and good luck!
