Which one?

Good evening. So I am considering getting surgery to get rid of my bell fat but I am not sure on which surgery to get. I dont have flabby or excessive skin at all. My stomach is actually big as if I am a few months pregnant which I am not and I'm tired of feeling insecure about it and people asking me how many months am I and me responding..I'm not pregnant. I need help.

Procedure: Liposuction
Location: Far Rockaway, NY

Good day and thank you for your questions. Dr. Monasebian, our Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, will answer your questions. Dr. Monasebian would have to see you and examine your abdomen as well as ask you some questions. Depending on the examination, there are different options available including liposuction and surgery. Without a photograph it is also difficult to determine which procedure(s) would be best. We would be happy to see you if you are in the New York City area. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Regards, Dr. Monasebian and Park Avenue Plastic Surgery.

Without seeing you in person, it is very difficult to say why your belly is enlarged. It may be the result of fatty tissue, weakness of the muscles, even visceral fat. I would have to see you in person. Best of luck.

I agree, there could be several reasons for your appearance. Some of my patients complain that after pregnancy they still look ‘pregnant.’ It is usually the result of the belly muscles being separated - diastases. In other patients, typically without children might have internal fat (visceral fat) causing prominence. Still others will have a combination of factors that can include superficial fat.

While internal fat cannot be removed surgically, the other two causes of the appearance you describe can be improved. Obviously, a good evaluation would be helpful

I appreciate your concerns, and it sounds like Tummytuck surgery may be your best option. Ideal candidates are patients with a BMI below 30 and those that have realistic expectations. In person examination will be needed to confirm my advice and a virtual consultation with me is certainly an option. Best of luck.

Thank you for sharing your question. Best to seek out a series of in-person consultations to get the best advice but most likely a tummy tuck will provide you the best surgical outcome. Hope this helps.
