heavy long breasts

I am a 40-42 DD, I honestly don't ever remember them being "perky". I have almost no fullness in the upper breast area. I have to wear 2 bras to exercise, I am big shouldered, and just "big boned" so I don't necessarily look disproportionate. I look much "bigger" due to breast size. I need to loose 20 covid lbs. I would love a reduction and lift without implants. What do I need to know?

You need a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon.

It sounds as if you would be the perfect candidate for a breast reduction. There are techniques that can meet your needs.

I see no need to lose weight prior to surgical intervention as not much would change with that amount of weight loss.

Depending on how much breast tissue needs to be removed, it’s possible that medical insurance would cover the cost.

More details though, about the procedure and results that you could expect can be answered by making an appointment with a plastic surgeon near you.

Thank you for sharing your question. It would be best to have an in-person consultation performed to provide you the necessary information so that you can make the best decision to address your concerns.

Thank you for sharing! Large breasts may not only interfere with your physical ability to function in daily activities but can be emotionally burdensome as well. Although its difficult to say without an in person examination, from what you describe you may be candidate for a breast reduction. Breast reduction surgery removes excess breast tissue and reshapes the contour of the breasts so that they are smaller and perkier. It is possible to do a breast reduction with a minimal scar technique and can also be done as a outpatient procedure under twilight sedation. It's important to be sure expectations are realistic and you have an understanding of the commitment needed for the healing process. Make sure that you understand the nature of your surgery, the recovery process, and that you feel comfortable and emotionally ready to make these changes to your body. I suggest you make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.

I would also recommend that you have an evaluation with a board-certified plastic surgeon as it sounds like you may be a candidate for a breast reduction procedure from your description. Breast reduction procedures have long been one of the procedures that we perform that has the highest patient satisfaction. Not only does it reduce the weight of the breast thereby improving any back or neck pain you may have, but it also restores the breast and nipple to a more youthful position thereby improving the appearance. This physical improvement tends to also result in improved self confidence and and self image.
