The skull is made up of numerous plates. Upon birth, each grows and eventually they fuse once the brain has reached its full size. Craniosynostosis is a defect of the skull that results in premature fusion of the skull sections, or suture lines. The brain continues to grow, but the plates that have not fused get overgrown. The skull isn’t necessarily bigger, just misshaped.

I don’t know any way, though to reduce the size of a head. You could definitely check with a plastic surgeon on your area to see if they have any ideas

The large skull can be remodeled, in cases of cranium synostosis, because generally in these patients, there is a deformity that depends on the suture that is functional.

in these cases there may be an increase in one of the dimensions of the skull, and a decrease in another of the dimensions.

There are cases in which the skull has grown, and increased in size due to endocranial hypertension. In these cases, the size of the skull can be reduced, if the patient has a Pudens valve, which has solved his hypertension problem.

The method used to reduce the size of the skull is gradual constriction, that is, the skull is resected with strips of bone, and with a device called a constrictor,

The diameter of the skull is gadually diminished. It is the opposite of what the skull distractor produces, which increases the dimension of the skull and advances bone segments.

The process is gradual. and the patient must be controlled, so that he does not present intracranial hypertession
