Although it's not possible to generate a treatment plan or estimate without evaluating the specific condition, in general the correction of prominent ears

The procedure can be performed on children and adults. The procedure involves removing excess skin from behind the ear and reshaping the cartilage so as to make the ear lie closer to the face. It is important to discuss expectations with your plastic surgeon and undergo a physical exam so the surgeon can determine how to best achieve your desired ear shape, contour and size. The surgical techniques used by the surgeon in this procedure may vary based the type of ear correction needed. After making the incisions, the surgeon may remove some cartilage and skin of the ear to achieve the desired shape, size, and contour. Ear reshaping surgery typically involves reforming some of the ear cartilages with sutures from an incision behind the ears to reduce their prominence. (how much they stick out) This would be the most common ear reshaping request. Such an otoplasty procedure is done under IV sedation or general anesthesia.
