Hello Joseph, the arm lift involves surgery to remove excess skin and fat from the upper arms, above the elbow. It is done in an operating room and must be very precise to avoid injuring vessels or nerves. The scar is on the inner aspect of the arm and goes from armpit to elbow. It takes about 4 hours. The benefit is a lighter, tighter arm, albeit with a scar. Some patients will need liposuction as well. There is very little pain afterward but several weeks of taking it easy to allow healing. Best wishes!

An arm lift I do under either IV sedation or under a general anethetic. The surgety takes about 1 and half hours. I place ace wraps on the arms and sometimes gauntlets. Light activity is usually possible in a few days and all after three weeks.

Dear Joe,

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!

Hi. The first thing is to evaluate your candidacy for the procedure, sometimes the problem can be corrected by Liposuction alone. Because of my location I can give you a free online evaluation by pictures and explain you in detailed the technique you are candidate for, how is performed, how to prepare for it, and all detail.
