Scar Revision from Gynecomastia Surgery

I had gynecomastia surgery 32 years ago, what was supposed to be a small incision on my nipple, was instead a mastectomy type scar when I awoke from surgery. I am single again and want to get this improved. What are my best options for improving this?

Procedure: Wound Care
Location: Jersey City, NJ

It appears that your left chest has more complete resolution of the gynecomastia, but I cannot think of a reason for that long scar that you have. In general scars come in 2 main varieties. 1) pathological scars can be treated with steroids or revised to be made skinnier. 2) unsightly scars are far more difficult, though. You have the later. That is, in your scar has healed well but is just in a bad location. Unfortunately, scars cannot be erased or moved.

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. As your scar has fully healed and faded there is little that can be done to try and improve the scar and I would leave it as is.
