Can I fix my uneven nostrils and septum?

I’ve been thinking of get a septoplasty and rhinoplasty on my nose but I have noticed that my nostrils look uneven and my nose looks slanted to the right. What would you recommend I do?

Procedure: Rhinoplasty
Location: Tracy, CA

Nostril Asymmetry is normal but it also can be exaggerated with septal deviation as well. You are best to be seen in person to be properly evaluated.

We all have asymmetries. One side of our face often looks different from the other side. Most people don’t notice these asymmetries in themselves, and certainly other people almost never notice them. You should take your concerns to a board-certified plastic surgeon and see if you are a candidate for surgery.

There is no way to make a recommendation with the minimal information in your post. If the asymmetry is only due to the septal deviation a septoplasty should suffice. If the tip cartilages are also misaligned they would need to be repositioned in which case the rhinoplasty part would be needed. If there is documented recent trauma and/or diminished airflow the procedure would be at least partially covered by health insurance.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question but without photographs or an in-person examination it is difficult to offer definite advice. I would see a series of ASPS board certified plastic surgeons who can assess your nasal asymmetry and deviated septum to see if a surgical rhinoplasty is a good treatment option. Best wishes!
