22 year old dissatisfied with breast reduction results

My chest grew at a very young age & by the time I got to college, I was close to a 32G. I decided to get a reduction after freshman year. My current size is a small B & my breasts are flat and droopy. As a 22year old, I’m constantly insecure with my body & it’s taken a big toll on my mental health. My surgery was mostly covered by insurance. What is my best option & will insurance cover any of it

Procedure: Breast Reduction
Location: Syracuse, NY

In order to find out your options for revision surgery, you should have an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Based on the fact that your breasts are no longer large, it is unlikely that your surgery would be covered by insurance.

I’m sorry that you were unsatisfied with your results. Assuming that you have discussed your results with your previous surgeon I would suggest that you consult with several surgeons to gather information and feel comfortable with the surgeon that you pick to perform your revision.

With regard to your insurance question I don’t take insurance in my office so I am not sure. I know that typically they will not pay for breast lift. However, if this is a revision it might be considered reconstruction. This would be a question you could ask of your next surgeon.

Thank you for sharing your question. Due to limitations on this website on viewing photographs it would be best to have in-person consultations to discuss your treatment alternatives, whether that means an implant placement, lift, or combination of the two. At your current size I do not think insurance would cover any additional procedure.

I think that what you need now is breast augmentation including implant augmentation or autologous fat grafting, they are cosmetic surgery rather than reconstructive, I do not know your insurance will cover or not.
