Concerned

I have hired a surgeon who has his own AAAASF operating room and will have a nurse anesthetist but not anesthesiologist present. Should I be concerned about this?

Procedure: Breast Augmentation
Location: Burnsville, MN

An AAAASF operating room is a legitimately credentialed facility in which to do office-based surgery. Many practices use certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA) to provide anesthesia services. This is also legitimate. I have used CRNAs for years with an impeccable track record of safety. If you have concerns like this, you should definitely address these with your surgeon. He or she should be happy to answer your questions and you should be reassured as to the safety and competence of the facility and staff. If you are not, find another surgeon.

Do not be concerned. The board-certified plastic surgeon accepts the responsibility for the quality care of your care, including the selection of a skilled nurse anesthetist
