Breast Revision

I had revision 11 weeks go. Still in pain. Burning armpits, strange feelings when I use my pecs. My surgery was submucscular periareolar. Surgeon says I should be perfect now, after seeing him twice about this since. I am not. Haven't slept a full night since surgery. Surgeon not helping, so I need some help finding other resources, please.

Procedure: Breast Augmentation
Location: Cameron Park, CA

Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry to hear of your symptoms. If you have lost confidence in your surgeon I would seek out other ASPS board certified plastic surgeons in your area with whom to have a second opinion. After 11 weeks, depending on the type and extent of reconstruction performed it would not be unusual to have some discomfort, especially nerve related, but it should have been steadily improving over that timeframe. Hope this helps.

Dear Ms Jane,

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. If you are unhappy with your surgeon, it is well within your rights to seek a second opinion. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!
