Scar Tissue

I have a scar tissue on the inside of my lower lip. It's in the form of a small tag or cyst. This becomes troublesome when eating.

What would a procedure like this cost to remove it? Will my insurance cover this seeing that it interrupts my eating?

Procedure: Wound Care
Location: Chandler, AZ

Good day and thank you for your questions. Dr. Monasebian, our Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, will answer your questions. He is also trained in Maxillofacial surgery and has worked over 30 years in treating the face. Dr. Monasebian would have to see you and examine you to look at your lip. There are many options available and medical insurance may help cover the costs if deemed medically necessary. We would be happy to see you if you are in the New York City area. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Regards, Dr. Monasebian and Park Avenue Plastic Surgery.

Thank you for the inquiry.

Since you mentioned it is bothersome when eating, then the insurance should be approached for pre-authorization.

We can assess whether it can be removed with good aesthetic outcome after examining you.

Best wishes

Scar revision might help, and you have to ask your insurance company about it.
