Who is at fault?

If a surgeon does your implants after telling you you would be wasting you’re money to get a lift. Now things are done and I’m being told to get the look I originally asked for, I will have to have a lift and bigger implants. After I was already told they could do what I wanted without a lift. How should this be handled. Also, pockets weren’t cut deep enough so I’m left with knots on the sides.

You will be lucky to get many comments here as its hard to comment on such a situation when being told only one side of the story. But if what you say is true and you can prove it with the notes written by the doctor, that would be incriminating as far as finding fault. But most good doctors do care about their patient's outcomes and want what is best for their patient and most have some kind of revision policy that helps patients achieve the desired goals. So if the doctor's note say what your outcome was going to be and that a lift was not needed, you have a strong position from which you can negotiate getting it fixed. If the notes are vague without any promises made, you will have to resort to the doctor's revision policy.

There appears to be some kind of misunderstanding somehow and there is not enough information here to pass judgement.

What I understood from you post is you got an implant augmentation but didn't get the lift you wanted. Surgeon had promised you that augmentation would also provide the lift you wanted. Somehow you are not satisfied. Remember, small lifts are possible with implant augmentation. But if your basic demand was more of a lift, augmentation I am afraid will not solve the problem. You have to understand these two are basically opposing technical procedures. Many surgeons do it in two stages. However, I do not know what explanation you received from the surgeon. Lift + a smaller implant would perhaps solve your problem.

Ultimately, you chose the surgeon, and the surgery. Surgical results are never guaranteed. Talk about your concerns with your original surgeon. Many plastic surgeons are like me, and offer deep discounts for revision to patients who are unhappy with their outcome following initial surgery. If you would like, get an opinion from other plastic surgeons. Ultimately, choose a plastic surgeon, and proceed with a plan and surgeon that you trust. Expect additional expenses.
