Tummy tuck grants/financial help

Hi! I dropped from 367 lbs to 162 lbs over the last year and a half while transitioning male to female and was wondering if anyone happened to know of any grants or programs that could help someone in my situation pay for a tummy tuck? Or if there are any surgeons attached to nonprofits that help with this sort of thing?

Procedure: Tummy Tuck
Location: Rockford, IL

First of all, congratulations on your weight loss as well as your transition. The most important part of any body contouring surgery is safety. You may want to reach out to an academic medical center that has a plastic surgery residency program. Many residency programs have a chief resident aesthetic surgery clinic where surgeries are often performed at a reduced rate. The resident who will be operating on you is usually a chief resident in their final year of the long road that is plastic surgery training. Also, there is always a faculty member who is a board certified plastic surgeon that is mentoring the resident and is available for in the operating room if needed.

Best of luck!
