Am I candidate?

August 18th 2018 I was in a car accident and was paralyzed from the chest down. My level is T2. All of the muscles in my entire abdomen are loose since I cannot activate them. I was a personal trainer and now I feel like I look like I am 5 months pregnant due to swelling, some fat and my flaccid muscles. Would I be a candidate for a tummy tuck?

Procedure: Tummy Tuck
Location: Souderton, PA

considering your circumstance, I would recommend muscle nerve stimulation by a physical therapist. It is possible to purchase one as well. Good luck...

Thank you for sharing your excellent question and best wishes on your continued recovery from your auto accident. At this time any elective surgery should be avoided and focus should be spent on physical therapy and improvement from your trauma. Hang in there.

Hello Nicole I am sorry to hear of your accident. I would recommend putting all your energy into recovery right now. You may be a candidate in the future for elective surgery. Spinal cord injuries require extra caution with anesthesia. Best wishes to you.

Dear Nicole,

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck!
