Double Mastectomy

Hello,

My chest was left uneven and concave after having both breasts removed. Is there anything that cab be done to correct? At the very least, make the chest was even and flat?

Procedure: DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction

You should schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who does breast reconstruction. The options could include revision of the mastectomy closure, fat transfer to fill in the indentations, to the various forms of breast reconstruction.

Thanks for your question. There are several options for breast reconstruction such as using your own tissue (DIEP Flap, Latissimus dorsi flap, PAP Flap) or using either silicone gel or saline implants. After this is done, one can have fat grafting done where fat is liposuctioned, prepared with a special device and reinjected into the reconstructed breasts to provide more fullness as well as mask any rippling with implants.

Breast reconstruction usually takes multiple surgeries and rarely are we able to do it in one operation.

Please meet with a board certified plastic surgeon in order to see what options are correct for you.

Best wishes.

A lot of things could be done and nothing is perfect. You need a consultation in person with an ABPS certified doctor close to where you live.

Fat grafting might help to improve.
